The Station Master’s House

This is the Station Master’s House. In the beginning it sat by the old train depot built for the railroad spur that brought passengers to Pentwater. It was a place where travelers and crew alike could find lodging for the night if needed. Today it is a summer home for the Nelson family and visitors. The wood trim and some builtins are original to the house. The fireplace where owner Julie Nelson stands is gas fireplace installed twenty years ago. According to Julie, the house was originally heated by wood stoves, also used for cooking, that have been repurposed as back deck furniture.
